The saviour of the American fashion scene didn't disappoint with his presentation for aw14. Firstly, he made attendees travel to Brooklyn for his show (when most are in Manhattan). Then he hired big model names for the show. And to top it all, he constructed a Chanel-esque show experience with moving platforms and elaborate set design. But the collection seemed to be full of everything, which can be an advantage or a curse. Advantage because the various (multiple) elements can be marketed as must-have accessories. A curse because the overall theme was missing. Style over substance, or vice versa? Regardless, Wang is the most daring on the scene and closest to a european design aesthetic, which is more about pushing boundaries and not being afraid of scaring the majority.
