5 places to visit in Shoreditch

As we are just a stones throw from Shoreditch, the cultural mecca that boasts the title of coolest neighbourhood in London, we thought we'd share our favourite spots.

The Boundary Rooftop
The rooftop sits atop the Albion Hotel, created by design guru Terence Conran. This boutique establishment provides food and drink with a great view, and is opposite Shoreditch House, the hangout for media types who need to belong. We prefer a space that doesn't scream elitist which is why the Rooftop is a more relaxed option. Avoid at peak times, and go online to book a table. Located at 2-4 Boundary Street, Shoreditch, London E2 7DD. http://www.theboundary.co.uk/rooftop/

Artwords Bookshop
This is the go-to for art/design/fashion material in East London. Situated on Rivington Street, Artwords is packed full of the best titles and the rarest of publications. The astounding selection in the store and online is enough to fire the imagination of any creative. Located at 69 Rivington Street, London EC2A 3AY. http://www.artwords.co.uk/

Byron Hamburger
We are kind of addicted to Byron here at Valstrom. The ever-growing chain has something that so many others don't: great food and impeccable service.  Each byron eatery is designed differently and seasonal specials always perk up the menu. The Hoxton Square branch is perfectly situated in the heart of Hoxton so you can watch the locals pass by while you tuck into a Miami Slice burger. Located at 46 Hoxton Square London N1 6PB. http://www.byronhamburgers.com

This pop-up mall was only planned as a temporary space in the centre of Shoreditch, but has proven so successful its tenure has been extended. The mall features the coolest of brands including Nike, Hype, Urbanears, even Gap and some great eateries. The unique shipping container units used by the tenants give the Boxpark an easy browsing approach to the shopping mall. There are also daily events like DJ marathons and flash sales. Located at 2-10 Bethnal Green Rd London, E1 6GY, UK. http://www.boxpark.co.uk/

Pitfield London
This eccentric and homely multipurpose emporium is a browsers heaven. The shop/cafe/exhibition space is packed with retro furniture and tidbits as well as new and cool interior suggestions. The exhibition space also features up and coming designers and illustrators. And the café is extensive too. Located at 31-35 Pitfield Street, London, N1 6HB. http://www.pitfieldlondon.com/
