London Fashion Week: Bora Aksu AW13
Modern nostalgia ruled at Bora Aksu for AW13 as the Turkish designer looked to the 1920’s and the Vaudeville for inspiration. In particular, it was the renowned Vaudeville stars the Dolly sisters and their decadent wardrobe that Aksu based his delicate lace skirts and beautiful lace corsets on. Naturally there was the signature 1920’s silhouettes - flapper dresses with drop waist with delicate circle applique work. The muted tones of creams and grey allowed for a sense of calm serenity and innocent romanticism that Bora Aksu does so well. - FT.
