London Fashion Week: Mary Katrantzou AW13
The queen of print and colour Mary Katrantzou shocked her audience of editors and buyers including Anna Wintour, by presenting a mostly monochrome collection for AW13. An audacious decision by the young designer considering the focus of her success has been her splendid eye for colour and out of the ordinary prints. The monochrome prints of landscapes that followed throughout the collection were 20th century photographs that had a distinct melancholic vibe. The floaty fabrics and the asymmetrical fold added the eerie feeling as models appear on the catwalk resembling ghosts. A visually stunning show that excited and allowed Mary Katrantzou to prove that she is more than a one trick pony and has the ability to push her label beyond the print queen emblem. - FT.  @LondonFashionWk
