Givenchy menswear has entered it’s god-fearing era as the models strutted down the catwalk in bomber jackets and sweatshirts with an iconoclastic print of the Madonna, the mother of Christ. A bold statement to make in a fashion industry that is increasingly dependent on the middle eastern and asian luxury consumer. Tisci said that the inspiration for the collection came from the cult of communion in his native southern Italy, where such a ritual is ever present in a catholic boys upbringing. The Givenchy communion boys sported the now signature Tisci male skirt in combinations of dusty pink, black, purple and white. There was an expected mixture of american sportswear and exquisitely tailored blazers and delicate coats.
